As you know Jackseller has closed his website yesterday. http://srmz.net/inde...opic=12639&st=0
With his site GPL Alternative forum also has gone https://gplaltern.f1...forum/index.php It was place for all us to stay in touch when srmz was down. But now we don't have such place. I think we should find something. Mybe one of league forum can offer community such place ( gplracer forum ) ?

I will talk to Michael Kaulfuss (Kauli) our GPLRACER founder who has more knowledge how to setup a new forum.

But we would need one or best two administrators for it. They would need to give registered people rights for a private section, check posts, an so on.
Anyone willing to do so?
Kauli and me would of course still be in the background to support you.
As it wouldn't be a daily used forum the amount of work should be low.

I have talked to Kauli on the phone last night and we will host the GPL Alternative Form on a subdomain of GPLRACER.
More news when we are ready that you can register.

Here is the new GPL Alternative Forum:
(The Logo might change)
You can all register but please keep it private to our inner circle for the moment.
I will make a post at SRMZ when we are sure that all works like it should.
ginetto, Remy, Pavel and Tom please register and make a little post in the "Lobby -> General discussion -> Welcome" thread.
Then I will give you Super Moderator rights and we can then test if you have access to a hidden private forum section and if you are able to moderate the forum.
Edit: You should be able to change the forum language to English at the registration.

It is actually not intended as a data backup, rather than a forum to be able to stay in contact when the others are down.
The forum has a Max. Upload / POST Limit of 8M
Edit: How about puting it in the cloud?
With Dropbox, Google Drive, ...?
I just did a quick research. There are several cloud storage services/provider, but the problem is that it has to be free and many users (mod team) need to have access to it. And how much storage space you can use for free (1 GB / 5 GB / 25 GB / 50 GB)?

Richard you and all can of course attach files up to 8 MB to the forum.
How small are your files?
Even so it would be great if the mod files could be stored at a cloud where they can be accessed by the mod team. And an additional backup won't hurt.
I can check if there is a free cloud option via our domain provider included in the contracts that could be usefull for us. Btw GPLRACER and GPLWORLD are both hosted by DomainFactory with separate contracts.
How much space would we need?

Does someone have to validate my registration?

You are welcome.
No problem. I will give Greg, Richard, Lee and others (?) Moderator rights so they can have access.
How shall I call the subforums in the private section?
Just tell me what you need and you will get it... well most of it.

Usually no activation is needed by an admin. Seems like your IP was suspicious.
Thanks Stefan, I'm able to post now.
