Hi Stefan,

My initial thoughts were simply that my update might not be good enough to release as this is my first "real" attempt at doing it. I`ve experimented with it before as the start of this thread shows but now at least I understand the process a little more.

If I manage to get the track updated as I`d like and it`s of a good enough standard, not causing any problems and all permissions needed have been granted then I most definitely would release it and share it with the community. I`d like to do that and give something back to the fantastic and very kind GPL community.

We`ll see how things go. :)

Good luck for your project.
Take your time.

Just a little update guys.

I`ve been getting ready to move home over these last few weeks so not been doing anything in GPL world.

Obviously my sim rig will have to be moved also and the room where it`ll be will have to be re-decorated etc so it might be some time before I`ll have my rig set up again.

I`ll get back to GPL and the Monza update asap.

I`ve been having a quick look at my Monza update today guys. I`ve been wanting to change the grandstand crowd on the start finish straight for some time now. It just looks like a large, low res mass. I think I`ve found them. PEOPLE1.MIP is what I think is the "blanket" of crowd in those grandstands.

I want to change them to the crowd that can be seen in the grandstand at the second Lesmo which look far nicer imo.

I can`t seem to find the Lesmo crowd. I`ve looked with WinMip and also DATman but, unless I`m just not seeing the wood for the trees, I can`t seem to locate them.

Does anyone know what I should be looking for? Once they`re found is there anything I`d need to do to use them? Resizing or anything?

Plus I`m still struggling to get the edges right. Some of the track edges have a curb and I`ve managed to change them ok but where the verges are I`m finding it difficult to get it to look right.

Any tips on this and the above would be appreciated. :)

Grand stands look different because of how they are built; it's not a matter of just textures.

Lesmo's have many vertical polygons that map people standing:

Start/Finish stands have only a flat inclined polygon that map the heads of a crowd:

Done these tracks and working on others.

Yes, I know that`s what the edges are named. What I really need some help with is how to actually make edges that fit with the asphalt and grass I`m using... :)

Ahh, that explains why I could`nt get it to work then. Is there any way the grandstands themselves can be edited/changed? If you look at this screen by pioujd428 of his 68 mod, the grandstands at the start/finish straight have standing people in them and look really good.

It would be very interesting to know how he did that.
