Denis Jenkinson did for the monthly MOTORSPORT what Gregor Grant did for Autosport

He has interesting views on any topic.

The British Racing Sport Car Club released a monthly mag : MOTOR RACING.Interesting interviews of drivers, and a color centerfold. Now, those mags aren't easy to find.

Cyril Posthumus was the mag main editor, but with the first reviews  by the famous Doug Nye, and Alan Brinton and John Blunsden

The fastest Grand Prix to date was the 1959 German GP run on the fast Avus track, won by Tony Brooks Ferrari. The title remind it was only beaten in 1967 !

Michel, thank you again for the wonderful scans that you've made of these historic articles on the '67 Belgian GP.  Your scans are very well done!  Thank you for taking the time and care to do this effort for us all.  I have now downloaded all of them... to read at my leisure.  :)

Have a good time, sitting behind the fireplace, when winter will come.

Greg, can you read some Italian, German or Spanish ?

MOTOR was another thick weekly British mag.Though the pages for motor racing look scarce at first sight, there was in fact interesting reports, rare cutaways of 6
7 F1 cars ect...

"Two in a row", this time the title insist on Gurney victory at Le Mans, the week before

Don't have THE AUTOCAR report, so let's go for a book in french 50 GRANDS PRIX DE BELGIQUE : 1925 - 1992 .The writer is Jean Paul Delsaux, from Belgium

I Like to cartoon on the last page

The title " first 100 % American victory "  can be debated, as you 'll see on another mag

some french mags

the monthly  L' AUTOMOBILE   was the mag sold the most in retail stores .

Inside , a lot of general motoring, but a detailed section for motor racing

title :  "double get's one own back for Mr Dan "
There was a lap chart

Etienne Moity, who did the report, is the brother of Christian Moity, who wrote many motor racing books.

Like Autosprint in Italy, Motoring News in U.K or Autoweek in the USA, L' AUTO JOURNAL was printed on large newspaper format; Not suitable for fast and easy scans !!
This newspaper was issued twice monthly. The yellow background shows its age !

Title : "the Lotus hasn't still be eaten up by the Eagle"
on, the right page :" this american car has got very british parents" ;As Len Terry was the  chassis designer, and the engine was an Aubrey Woods/ Harry Weslake cooperation, with its final assembly at Rye, in England

VIRAGE AUTO was a  french monthly mag . They published some pics of Michel Delombaerde that were very special, with lots of creative effects, that wasn't  the rule on that era.

I remember Jean Thieffry , a specialist in  International business law  courses I attended, not knowing at that time that he was the owner, editor and main contributor of this mag that sadly disappeared in 1973.

Instead of being as detailed as most of the others mags I have, , they rather liked to offer analysis of a driver, or a situation .

Will Gurney be the driver of the year ?

The Automobile Year Report mentions Gurney exceeding 200 MPH on the Masta Straight, something done pretty easily in the original
Papy version of Spa. I'll be curious to see if its doable before the Kink with Spa67. :)

Dave,

I feel the max speed of most of the cars in Grand Prix Legends will exceed RL .
I used AUTOCOURSE laps by laps on race day, calculated an average lap time selecting the six best laps of 13 competitors , and will post the results. You' ll see Grand Prix Legends cars shld go slower

Jim Clark felt that without some feeding engine pbs  on Saturday practice, the car cld do a 3'25". So we have a reference for a new exe.

MOTEURS was a bimonthly deluxe large french mag, sharing the same glossy thick paper and format with the deluxe german trimestrial MOTOR REVUE.

SPORT AUTO was the most popular motor racing specialised mag in France; Published monthly, it was GĂ©rard " Jabby" Crombac creation, with Jean lucas.
Crombac was a long time friend of Colin Chapman and Jim Clark.

one of interesting feature for the GP coverage is the infos on the team by team analysis that you can read, and even better, the infos on tyres type and size they used for the race. Crombac picked up those infos in the pits.(seen " les pneus" on the last page); Finally, there was a color centerfold.

it can help for a future "true" 67. exe for Grand Prix Legends, as well it has helped for the F2 carset.

We learn that Ferraris used the same compound than the P4s at Le Mans, and they revealed being too hard for Spa race. For Crombac, it can explain why Parkes crashed on the oil , because drivers complained those tyres where a little bit touchy on oily places.

Crombac published always the lap chart, in a more usable manner than the one of L' AUTOMOBILE.Pits stop causes and horizontal line for the lap mark.

Michel, it is really terrific to finally see the Lap Chart for the Belgian GP, included in the Sport Auto publication (even with Gurney's car number listed incorrectly as '26' and Stewart & Irwin both in '14' in the left-hand column).  This is the format that was used by the teams back then.... and not the stylized format that is included in the L' Automobile publication.

Thank you for providing these historic scans for us!!  :)

a small present for Arturo Pereira

CORSA, a large newspaper format weekly  ARRGGGENTTTINIAN mag !  Got it on a special site Mercadopago, cause Ebay cancelled its service after various turnmoil with some south american countries.

I had an hard time to get those mags

At least, one report in spanish, we have !

Argentinian Turismo di carettera races and Temporada F3 are rather well covered by this mag.I got many AUTOMUNDO , in the same format than Corsa.

Maybe Sergio who had a project on TC cars can be interested with pics and cars infos ?

Happy to see you here. It is your first post, so perhaps you need a minimum amount of posts ( Five ? )  to get the right to dld attached files.

I don't think it is not related to an option to enable in your profile.

the other way is the way GPLR exchange with your browser. Not your browser fault, but a bug . The interface behave in a different way when I use Explorer instead of Firefox. For instance, when I upload files.

Try to use another browser to join .Result not guaranted , but...

last thing is to ask by PM to  MECH who is administrator here

yesterday, there was bugs like a white band in the middle of the image, when it opened.

two days ago, it is only when I tried again after it failed first that it opened the image .

Today, they all opens without pb !By looking at the number of dld, it seems that it works for others who come here.

Michkov, Dave,do you have the same pb with the first attachements I uploaded on the first page ?

Hope we get rid of those bugs. I really prefer uploading images, than putting all in zip files. It gives life to threads, and people see quickly what to expect. That's only my view !

Tried again to open the very first file in your first post, still get the "no permission" message. Michel, I tried to PM you when I discovered
I couldn't view, but it says you can't receive messages, maybe your mailbox is full? That was when I contacted a Mod member to forward
me some of your great infos. Thank you Michel ! :)
