The link to LP-Edit is dead. Can anyone reupload the program if he has it?
Lp-edit is fixed. I've also added AiEdit which is a better tool to handle lp files.
Lp-edit has it's use if you need to convert lp to txt for excel but other than that i would use AiEdit :)

Cheers,

Martin

to create complex objects by adding + 3do

-----------------------------

To insert a new object I try to point you in the method I use that makes use of 'use the other program I developed the GPLVTXINS.
With GPLVTXINS is possible to calculate the position of a characteristic point of the path within an object 3do.
For example with respect to a shaft positioned at the side of the track I can calcolarmi the position X, YZ, of the vertices of the start and end section of the track where the object is contained.
In this way, by extracting the file with GPLTRKeditor 3do format VTX (Summits more plans will be able to load it and work it with 123do.exe.
Indeed loading the file with .vtx 123do you can go to edit any object textures at the top floors and insert inside of another object.
In conclusion having two nearby objects I can convert them to process them with VTX 123do into a single object while keeping the original positions they had in trk.3do esssendo but actually only one object
So the reference of the object embedded can be used to insert a new object that can give new dimensions and positions.
The thing in words is a bit complicated but it really is quite simple, and above all very precise because the positioning and dimensions of the objects are calculated unadjusted trial.

Running Winmip on a W7 64bits system won't work as i just discovered.

But there's a solution
First check if you have msvbvm50 and msvbvm60 files installed.
Just download the .exe files from microsoft (not anywhere els because these might be infected!)

After that you probably get an error of a missing comctl32.ocx
Get a hold of that file and put it in the same directory as the application.
If that don't work follow instructions below:

To those who still have this problem. Here's the solution. It is pretty simple. The reason the .ocx file is showing up as incompatible, is because it was put in the wrong folder. I assume most of you placed the .ocx in the System32 folder. But if you are using Vista and/or Win7 64-bit, the .ocx must be placed in the SysWOW64 folder instead, which, just so happens to be right next to the System32 folder :D.
After that, just follow the same instructions, but simply change to the corresponding path in the CMD. Like this:
  • Move comctl32.ocx to c:\Windows\SysWOW64

  • Open a command line window and run following command:
    regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\comctl32.ocx
    B) For Vista/Win7 users with UAC turn on, the above command needs to be run from elevated command prompt.

  • Once comdlg32 is registered successfully, following message will prompt: "DllRegisterServer in C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\comctl32.ocx succeeded."

  • Now launch the application again and you should not see the file missing error.
Hope it helped.

Cheers,

Martin

Thanks Martin,

This error can also happen with some of my programs such as Grand Prix Legends Setup Manager as it uses the comctl32.ocx file too.

XP users don't have to worry about this, but Windows 7 and above users do.

Hi, fellas!  :)

I note with the 1955 mod files that a number carry the extension, 'm55'.  In a test, I simply revised the extension to 'mip' and got to view the file contents.

What programme created the file in the first place with that m55 extension?  I'd like to better view and even edit some of the files without the labourious task of manually changing the extensions of scores of files to mips.  Thanks.

As far as the above goes, is there something similar re an editor for 1955 mod files with extension, '355'?  I take it that these are mod-specific 3do's?

Doni, I use a DOS cmd prompt window to rename file extensions.

1.)  Open a DOS prompt window.
2.)  Navigate to the directory that has the *.m55 files (be sure that you have backups!)
3.)  Use the command: rename *.m55 *.mip
4.)  Exit the DOS prompt window.

All the mod specific files are simple 3DO, MIP and SRB that have a different extension name according to the MOD you want to use them.
To edit the files, you need to give the proper extension first.

WOW!  Thanks for the fast comebacks, Gino & Greg!  :)

So if I'm understanding correctly, I must manually change the extension letters?  One-by-one?  Mother of Mercy!

I haven't gone down to the DOS prompt since I don't know when.  LOL!  I wonder if I could write a batch file to facilitate a gang renaming in a separate test folder?  Been a good 10 years since I tried that.  Hmmm...
