Hello .

I am currently working on a track project. Just for learning.
I have been using the tutorial from GPLEA.

I am not sure that I understand everything, because my track just doesn't load.
I don't know what to check now, and what to do.

The track is ready. No mismatch angles or distances.
No very complicated options or objects, no altitudes.
This is a first and simple version (Alpha)

I think that I have a problem with the other files , or a texture.
And I don't want to keep on going until it loads in the game.

Does anybody out there would accept to check my files and perhaps explain to me what's wrong with it ???? I'am sure this is not a very big problem, but i just don't know what to do.

I stay at your disposal to send you the files.
Just send me your mail at
esoriano@hubersuhner.com

Best regards
E.soriano

Hello !

I have found a solution.
I have finally decided to build again my track from the start, with the GPLEA tutorial.
It works now, and I am currently working on the elevations.

Best regards
E.soriano

I'm having a similar issue with llandow, sciss.exe doesn't work, and I was wondering if there are alternative applications that search for missing files. I'm reluctant to scrap my .gtk/.trk as I have put a fair bit of work in and it compiles well. I think it may be the dat file (it is from silverstone), but I have opened and deleted silver.cam and similar files. Any help appreciated.

3dosimed, usefull for many things, has a feature that lists the missing 3do and textures of a track :)
Also 3dostrn by MECH is a little utility that list all the files , you do a G search and will find it ;)

starter.mip is missing in landow.dat (unchanged from silver currently). I have looked around other dat files for it, but it isn't present in any of them. I think the "Could not load track" message is due to other problems I think. Also in GEM season editor it says that it is not installed.

You don't need the starter.mip file.
Did you check for ground.mip? is part of the horizon if you apply a new one and usually they don't have the ground mip (use a copy of grass.mip as a start)

You compile the track with all the 3do loose , right? they don't have to stay in the dat file.
Silverstone is not the best track to use as a base since all the original tracks have their textures files rotated by 90 degrees compared to the addon tracks; you will need to transform all the mip files and change the rotation then resave them to mip.
