I haven’t been around the Repository much because of a login issue that I hope someone can help with.

Starting a few months ago, when I try to log in here, everything goes OK and I get a “Login was successful” message, but where it says “login” my name does not show, as it should if I were logged in, and I can’t access forums.

The only way to log in is to delete all my cookies and then I can login – but only until I navigate away from the Repository.  Then I have to go through the Delete Cookies process again. This means that all other sites where I log in force me to enter all my information (account numbers, login name, password, etc) again. This is very annoying and something that I don’t enjoy doing, to say the very least.

I’ve done the same thing from other computers at other locations with the same problematic result.

So it might be a setting with my browser (IE9 on a Windows 7 system and I tried compatibility view) or it might be some kind of access blocking at SRMZ Repository.
I can log in to the other SRMZ forums with no problem as well as all other sites that I normally access.

Anyone have an idea about what’s wrong?

I've had the same problem at work. At home it was fine.
I found that IE was having this problem while Firefox didn't.

So instead of wasting time trying to find the problem in IE i just used Firefox at work.

Cheers,

Martin

IE9 has a compatibility view button on the address bar, you need to check that on so it works like the older versions.

Done these tracks and working on others.

Solved.

Ginetto, I tried the compatibility view with no luck.

Martin, using Firefox seems to do the trick, but I wonder why IE9 doesn't work for this one forum.

i just tried what you outlined above. bone stock ie9 (never used in the almost year i'm running 7 here now). enter log / pw, saved them too, all as usual, name showing up yada yada. closed ie. restarted, opened srmz (where i did not login or save pw), went to here, autologin, i see my name, i can post, just like ff :S

i guess you tried resetting all ie content settings back to default?

For me it's a puzzle as well.
My desktop seems to login automatically with firefox and has no problems whatsoever for srmz as well as the repository.
However my laptop is a different story, there srmz stays logged out and i have to press the login button to get in.
In some occassions that works but when i remove all history it takes me several tries to get in again in both fora.

The difference is XP vs. Win7, maybe that's something what may be the reason why it behaves different?
Anyway i cope with it because i hate wasting time on stuff that isn't GPL related (still need to dive in my graphic settings to see if i can improve fps but haven't done so because i hardly drive these days) :D

Cheers,

Martin

For me switching to using Firefox (v.5.0.1) worked.  I only use Firefox for this forum though.

I'm starting to suspect there's some weird glitch with other sites this domain has (like: http://srmz.net/inde...p?showforum=141).  Now I didn't login to there at all as I used to before this site (I guess Clear Domain Cookies zeroes this login cookie) and my GPLR cookie worked now fine.

I'll be adding more info or corrections if I get any.

Same problem here. Two different PCs, both IE9, W7. On one, all loggin in functionality are OK and IE9 combatibility view is not ticked. On the other, although it is said I have been logged in succesfully, I don't see my name and can not enter the forum. I  will check this night the IE9 compatibility view.

Cheers.

For me the source of the problems are the log-ins to other sites (*.srmz.net) here.  If I don't do any other log-ins, everything appers to be functioning normally here (I see no need for compatibility mode with IE9 64bit so far).
