Add pit armco to Goodwood WIP

ginetto or Rob (or anyone else), would you kindly assist in adding an object to a version of Goodwood?  It is still the original GPLEA track but with some edits to both the goodwood.3do and goodwood.trk files.

Here is the Goodwood track WIP (work in progress) at Post #40 of my Forum -  http://gplr.srmz.net...=25#entry102221

In the goodwood.3do I replaced many mips with other mip names, deleted some objects and moved some objects.

In the goodwood.trk I changed the sand traps to grass and also changed some white lines to grass/asphalt.  Even though I removed the pit wall, I left the collision wall there.
This was in preparation for adding the pit armco there as a new object.  I don't know if that is the best method.  The armco 3do that I have for the pit armco is double-sided - so there are two different textures on each side.  It does not have collision.  Maybe the best route is to add collision to this armco 3do file and then remove the collision 'wall' in the goodwood.trk file.

So, if someone would add this armco_p.3do with textures armcopit and armcobck.mip to the grass strip between the pit lane and the track .... that would be cool.  :)

Here are some photos to show that the placement of the armco is nearer to the track than the pit lane - on the grass.

2018 French GP at Paul Ricard

22 June 2018 - 09:10 AM

Well ... they return to Circuit Paul Ricard after a 28 year absence.   There were some good races there in the 70s and 80s.

I am a bit concerned about the short pit exit that dumps the cars right onto the racing line.  In the heat of good dicing, I hope that nothing untoward happens there.

The title says it all.

Glad we began talking about Le Mans in the Sports Cars forum.... or I might have been scrambling to find TV coverage.  :)

Spinning Newspaper Using OGL - FIX

23 April 2018 - 08:52 AM

For those of you that use OGL and get the extremely slow 'spinning newspaper' between finishing a race and seeing the static newspaper with results image - I found a way around the slow-down.

By replacing the 28 varied images of the 'spinning newspaper' with 'blank' pbf images, the animation of spinning is bypassed.  On completing a race, and after clicking on the green flag to go to the newspaper with results, you now go directly to the newspaper.

I am supplying this 'fix' in two methods.  One method is to extract the 28 blank pbf files into your layout folder.  The other method is a layout.DAT file that I have substituted the 28 newspaper pbf files with blanks.  This second method is more manageable when using separate installs for each mod.  Please, note that you only need ONE of these D/L to get the spinning newspaper bypass.

I hope this is found useful.  :)
